ACTIVE AND PASSIVE VOICE (VOZ PASIVA Y ACTIVA)



  • La voz activa es la forma en que hablamos habitualmente. Siempre decimos que alguien (una persona) realiza (o no realiza) una acción.
ESTRUCTURA:
SUBJECT + VERB + COMPLEMENT

Ejemplo:

 Presente: Michael corta la manzana // Michael cuts the apple.


Pasado: Michael cortó la manzana // Michael cut the apple.





  • En la voz pasiva la acción del verbo recae sobre el objeto, es decir, queremos dar más importancia a la acción y no a quien la ha realizado.
ESTRUCTURA:

Se forma la voz pasiva con el verbo auxiliar "to be" y el participio pasado del verbo.

Subject + finite form of to be + Past Participle


Existe una voz pasiva con objeto directo.el objeto directo responda de manera exacta a la pregunta “¿qué cosa?”,ejemplo:

A new hat is bought by the lady.// Un nuevo sombrero es comprado por la dama.
(En este caso interesa que “un nuevo sombrero es comprado” sin demasiada importancia de quien realiza la acción)

Un objeto indirecto responde a las preguntas:¿a quién?,¿Para quién?,¿Para qué?

 He gave Mary a rose.//Él dió a Mary una rosa. 
(Mary es a quién se le da una rosa)

THE WH QUESTIONS


The WH questions  are use to ask for information.  They are different than Yes/No questions.  




 STRUCTURE

 The WH questions in simple present use “do” or “be”:

WH Questions with "do"

WH   +   DO/DOES   +   SUBJECT    +   VERB

Examples:        
·         Where do you work?
·         Where does she live?
·         When do you wake up?

WH Questions with "be"

WH   +   BE    +    SUBJECT

Examples:        
·         Where are you from?
·         Who is that man?
·         When is your class?

Born in the South Jamaica section of Queens, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson has lived in New York City all his life. Raised by his grandparents after his father ran out and his mother was shot when he was only eight. Growing up, the Queens rapper originally wanted to be a heavyweight boxer, but eventually fell back on rapping. 


After leaving drug dealing to pursue a rap career, he was shot at and struck by nine bullets during an incident in 2000. After releasing his album Guess Who's Back? in 2002, Jackson was discovered by rapper Eminem and signed to Interscope Records. With the help of Eminem and Dr. Dre, who produced his first major commercial successes, Jackson became one of the world's highest selling rappers. In 2003, he founded the record label G-Unit Records, which signed several successful rappers such as Young Buck, Lloyd Banks, and Tony Yayo.
Jackson has engaged in feuds with other rappers including Ja Rule, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Cam'ron, Rick Ross, and former G-Unit members The Game and Young Buck. He has also pursued an acting career, appearing in the semi-autobiographical film Get Rich or Die Tryin' in 2005, the Iraq War film Home of the Brave in 2006, and Righteous Kill in 2008. 50 Cent was ranked as the sixth best artist of the 2000–2009 decade by Billboard magazine. The magazine also ranked him as the fourth top male artist and as the third top rapper behind Eminem and Nelly. Billboard magazine also ranked him as the sixth best and most successful Hot 100 Artist of the 2000–2009 decade and as the number one rap artist of the 2000–2009 decade. Billboard ranked his album Get Rich or Die Tryin' as the twelfth best album of the 2000–2009 decade and his album The Massacre as the 37th best album of the 2000–2009 decade. He is currently working on his fifth studio album, Black Magic, which currently has no official release date but is expected to be released later in 2011.
